**Course in English. Entry requirements: basic knowledge of Photoshop

This course is an introduction to graphic design. Every lesson you will learn some theory which you will directly be applying in practice. You learn to work with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. You will work towards designing your own case using three basic elements: colour, composition and typography. This will be a case project of your own choosing, for which you will be designing different products, such as a logo with a house style, a poster design, flyer, or business card. There will be some homework for some of the classes, which will be discussed in class.

What you will learn:
  • How to use Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Colour theory, typography and composition
  • How to develop and produce your own concept
  • How to deliver products ready for printing
Please note: for this course you need to have a laptop with at least Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign (version C3 or later). During the lessons, you will work on your own laptop. Students and employees of Utrecht University or the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences can buy discounted laptops through www.surfspot.nl. Course dates:
This course will take place every week on the same day and time during the entire course. If a lesson is canceled due to a holiday or other causes (eg. Illness teacher, organizational issues), the lesson will be then rescheduled at the end of the course program. Please take into account that, due to this reason,  the course can last several weeks longer than anticipated.
