Entry requirements: average computer skills (explanation at the bottom of this page).

This course is an introduction in graphic design. Every lesson consists of some theory, which you will put into practice. You will learn how to work with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. You will learn how to use colour, surface division and fonts and apply it to your own case. This is a project of your choice, for which you will design several things. For example, a style for your paper or your final thesis with matching presentation, a design for a (conference) poster, a flyer, or a business card with matching resume. In some lessons you are given a homework assignment. We will evaluate the results together.

What you will learn:

Practical matters:
Course material: we won’t be repeating the course material a lot and you will need it to progress in class. Therefor, try to be present at all lessons.
What to bring: For this course you are required to have a laptop equipped with Adobe Photoshop (version CS3 or later). You will be working on your own laptop during the classes.
Average computer skills: You should be able to follow instructions like 'shift-click', 'copy-paste' or 'click and drag' without any problems. We assume you know what a window is, and that you're able to close, minimise and resize it.
